SENIOR RESEARCH CHEMIST

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Research Chemist for its Catoosa, OK facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing high purity electronic materials for trace impurities and managing the quality data generated to provide feedback to manufacturing on process performance and stability. He or she must also support the development and deployment of analytical methods into a production setting. Experience with gas chromatography is a basic requirement and the ability to troubleshoot and repair analytical equipment is a major plus. Responsibilities include GC and Moisture analysis of sources and finished products, instrument selection, method validation, support for new equipment installation, data management, documentation and training.

The job will involve working with a global team to achieve consistency in systems and work practices among production facilities. Hands-on experience with other analytical techniques such as chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry is a plus. The job requires great communications skills. Regular communications will be held with analytical teams globally, operations management, engineering, business areas, and customers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

-BS or MS in Chemistry or equivalent
-Minimum of 5 years hand-on experience in analytical
-Experience handling hazardous chemicals
-Strong troubleshooting skills
-Experience working in a chemical plant desired
