Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an IMMEDIATE opening for an experienced Business Development Manager for its St. Louis, MO facility.
Business Development:
• Promote membrane and membrane system solutions on a global basis to customers in new applications or targeted growth markets. Translate successes between sales teams.
• Build, strengthen and maintain relationships with customers.
• Negotiate commercial agreements.
• Conduct voice of customer interviews.
• Evaluation of existing technology/products and market trends and drivers, and identify growth opportunities.
• Develop marketing tools of newly commercialized products.
Product Strategy and Development:
• Analysis of opportunities across various business areas (such as shipboard N2, engineered N2 systems, standard offerings for SOG & SOE, OEM, Hydrocarbons).
• Translation of customer needs for products into technology, engineering and manufacturing specification/capability. Develop new product development project performance targets for commercial success.
• Benchmarking of competitor’s capability, product cost, performance, and supply modes. Identify sources of competitive advantage and develops plans to correct weaknesses.
• Lead and/or actively participate in product development projects.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• BS in engineering, technical degree or strong experienced-based technical acumen; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years experience in Commercial and Technology areas relevant to the role.
• Knowledge of gas separation membranes a plus.
• Experience in interfacing with business/technical groups worldwide.
• Communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work and influence people from all cultures and at all organizational levels, inside and outside of Air Products.
• Fluency in English. Additional language skills as plus.
• Must travel domestically and international.
