Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Sales Representative in the Houston, TX area.
This job may be done either at the Deer Park facility or working from home.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Air Products Express Service (APEX) team supplies temporary nitrogen and hydrogen for a variety of applications. APEX’s primary customer segments include the petrochemical and refinery industries. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and conducting the sales efforts in the Houston area within North American Gases with a focus on the Chemical and Petro Chemical market. Position is responsible for the growth of APEX’s market share in the region while maintaining high profitability. Includes maintaining existing business, identifying, prospecting and generating new business.
The Sales Representative will report to the Regional Merchant Sales Manager and will work closely with the APEX management in Allentown to lead the day-to-day sales activities of APEX business in the Houston area.
This includes but is not limited to: • Conducting cold calls and other initiatives to bring in new business opportunities • Uncovering and monitoring upcoming service opportunities at various sites • Actively building strong operations and procurement relationships at key sites • Working with Air Products account management teams to leverage existing relationships • Assisting in the management of existing accounts • Leading contract negotiations
More specifically:
• Achieve budgeted sales and profit objectives for the sales territory. • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans for the major customers in the territory. • Forecast and budget results. • Negotiate new / renewal contracts. • Manage activities between Inside Sales and Focused Accounts for customers in the region. • Communicate to ensure flawless execution and customer satisfaction, utilizing latest tools such as SAP, Salesforce.com.
The position will be primarily commercial focused however; the candidate will need to quickly develop the technical competency and analytical skills necessary to effectively interface with customer engineering contacts.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 - 10 years of experience; Bachelor's degree preferred • A technical background or aptitude; technical undergrad could be an asset. • Highly motivated, ability to work and prioritize independently • Ability communicate and work with eternal customers • Ability to work cross functionally inside of APCI
