Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a PROJECT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project development engineer is responsible for leading the bid process: by organizing, conducting and documenting initial bid evaluations; by correctly estimating the best value proposition necessary to win and maximize profit consistent with commercial objectives; by accurately defining scope splits with the internal and external stakeholders; by actively participating in commercial meetings with our customers and issuing concise meeting summaries; by helping set project execution strategy and managing Sales Estimate (SE) budgets; by developing and maintaining estimating and resource management tools.
Qualifications:
• BS in Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Some capital project management experience, preferred
• Excellent spreadsheet skills required.
Incumbent shall demonstrate and/or have the capability to develop Leadership Competencies including:
-Building and achieves success through teams
-Ability to analyze issues and exercise sound judgment in the coordination and direction of the individuals that comprise the project team
-Understanding of strategic issues
-Having a management style which fosters trust and open communication
-Ability to distinguish between the needs and desires of the customer and deal forthright but firmly with the customer as required to resolve scope issues that may arise
-Provide leadership to the Proposal Team by demonstrating personal responsibility, accountability, and work commitment
-Frequent travel to A&E offices, construction/plant sites and global locations required (20% typical).
