PROCESS CONTROLS SPECIALIST

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a PROCESS CONTROLS SPECIALIST at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This position is for a Process Controls Specialist in the Generated Gasses Process Controls Team. This team is responsible for a variety of project types that include generation and delivery systems for flammable, high pressure, high purity PSA and VSA projects, air separation, and water treatment. This position will provide the new Process Controls Specialist with an opportunity to grow with potential future career progression anticipated.

Responsibilities:
Provide strong leadership for FAT and shop checkouts and provide critical review of engineering and design deliverables to improve team’s performance and meet CI goals. Additional responsibilities may be:
• Supporting Sr. Engineers on large projects
• Controls cost estimates for equipment and labor
• Running Process Automation Projects
• Participate in P&ID development
• Participation in Operability and Hazard Reviews
• Control equipment and instrumentation specification
• PAS (Process Automation System) programming and integration
• SIL assessments and verification
• Control System Design reviews
• Commissioning and Startup support
• Development of control system operation and training material
• Providing innovative solutions to the challenges of packaged system design philosophies.

Qualifications:
• Minimum HS diploma and 15 years of Instrument / Electrical / Electronic experience
• Strong technical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work on and lead teams
• Ability to schedule workload and manage project schedules
• Solution oriented driving projects to a successful conclusion
• Strong knowledge in instrument, controls, and electrical systems used in process automation
• 25 % travel required to Air Products and customer facilities providing support to Generated Gases Project and lead control engineers.
