Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Site Manager at its production and distribution facilities in Santa Clara, CA.
The Santa Clara facility comprises of three air separation (ASU) plants supporting pipeline and merchant gas businesses. Liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon products are manufactured and delivered to a customer base in and around the San Jose metro area. The plant supplies and manages an extensive Electronics’ nitrogen pipeline network. The site includes a distribution terminal utilizing contractor drivers and a company vehicle maintenance team. An Electronics’ Specialty Gas facility is collocated on the site.
This position will require a high level of customer interaction on a regular basis. The site manager will also be closely involved with our commercial teams in support of our tonnage and merchant businesses in the area.
The Santa Clara site manager will be responsible for all aspects of the aforementioned operations. EH&S, operational excellence, people development, cost management, productivity, and customer satisfaction are key areas of the Site Manager’s responsibility.
Candidates for this position will be evaluated on the basis of the following:
-Ability to interface with customer representatives
-Effective Communications skills
-Experience in ASU plant operations, distribution, and generated gases
-Successful track record in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality
-Demonstrated managerial leadership and interpersonal skills
-Strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity
-Demonstrated commitment to asset management programs
-Committed to our continuous improvement initiative
Qualifications/Requirements:
* 10+ years of industrial experience including supervision
* Minimum high school diploma, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, military experience, or certification in sigma/stable ops are considered a plus
* Ability to interface with senior customer representatives and community leaders
* Demonstrated commitment to EH&S
* Self-starter with proven leadership abilities
* Experience in process plant operation / maintenance
* Strong communication and organization skills
