Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a MATERIALS ENGINEER at our our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
The Materials Engineer is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of our facilities through the performance of key activities including;
- Conducting failure analysis, determining root causes of failure, and developing appropriate repair procedures.
- Recommending materials of construction based on understanding of the process conditions.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering (advanced degree preferred) with a minimum of 3 years experience.
- Field experience in the industrial gas, petrochemical, power, or chemical process industries preferred.
- Must have a basic understanding of metallurgy and failure mechanisms.
- Seeking a motivated engineer with excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to interface with engineers and plant personnel.
Approximately 10% travel required, some international.
