ACCOUNT MANAGER

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an ACCOUNT MANAGER at our Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX and Houston, TX locations.

This position will support Epoxy, Polyurethane and Polyurea Curing Agent and Resin sales in the Southeastern US (territory includes New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia) and will be the first line of commercial and technical support for one distributor and their customers. Primary markets served are Adhesives, Composites, Coatings and Civil Engineering. The account manager will be responsible for growing business at new accounts, existing direct accounts and through local distribution, identifying new opportunities with an emphasis on new product sales and executing the objectives of the business area.

Principal Responsibilities
• Determine who the key commercial and technical decision makers are at customers. As such, maintain and strengthen customer relationships including contacts in purchasing, technical, operations and marketing and grow the region per budget requirements.
• Implement the strategy and objectives for the Epoxy Additives Business.
• Negotiate and execute contracts to secure supply commitments.
• Work with Marketing, AD/TS, Product Management and Customer Service organizations to establish priorities for new product/new account/new market opportunities.
• Work with these same organizations to resolve commercial and technical customer issues.
• Communicate market intelligence and account updates for customers and markets served in the region through timely submission of Contact Reports, voice-mails and follow-up letters/emails.
• Develop account plans for key accounts and work with Sales Manager to secure related resources.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

- Should have a minimum of 5 years experience in Technical and/or Commercial roles working with Epoxy, Polyurethane & Polyurea chemistry in the Coatings, Adhesives & Composites markets.
- BS or MS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
- Must have strong organization, communication and follow-up skills.
- Interest in learning new technology (chemical & electronic literacy) and influence skills to sell internally as well as at the customer level.
