Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a PROJECT MANAGER at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the Pipeline Engineering Department.
About AP Pipelines: Over the past 30 years, Air Products has acquired and built over 2000 miles of Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen pipelines. Air products operates and maintains pipelines in over 20 countries. Pipelines range in size from 2” to 24” in diameter and serve the petrochemical, metal and electronics industries.
The Project Manager will be responsible for executing and managing multiple pipeline projects in various geographies typically ranging from $500,000 to $40,000,000 in value and project durations ranging from 12 months to 2 years. The Project Manager is responsible for schedule, budget, quality, safety, meeting customer expectations, and other factors critical to the success of the project.
The Project Manager interfaces and works with engineering, design, purchasing, scheduling, manufacturing, ROW, environmental, suppliers, and customers to ensure project deliverables and expectations are met. Team Members, Customers, and Suppliers are global.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Education should include a BSME, BSCHE or related degree - Ideally 5 or more years experience in pipeline related industries and technologies but will consider all candidates - Candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated and customer focused - Candidate must possess excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) - Knowledge of Cathodic Protection systems, Welding procedures, Pipeline QC and project management methodologies a definite plus - Good organizational skills and strong resource managing abilities - Knowledge of DOT regulations - Able to handle multiple priorities and be able to adapt to changing work priorities and conflicts in a calm, professional manner - Be a team player and have the ability to work with multiple teams composed of diverse team members - Possess good problem solving and decision making skills, and be able to negotiate effectively with internal and external team members - Ability to create an environment of trust and always exhibit a positive attitude - Ability to work across various engineering disciplines - Comfortable providing feedback to team members.
