PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER (or PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN) at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The Process Control Systems Engineer (Engineering Technician) will be responsible for engineering/troubleshooting all control system equipment including the sites various Process Automation Systems (PAS) and related loop equipment. This person is also responsible for the long term planning and support of the PAS(s) with respect to programming, preventive maintenance and systems migration.

Skills related to outage planning, organization and communication are highly desirable. He/she must be capable of working in a team environment with shared responsibilities. This person would be responsible for control systems support of various HYCO, helium gas plants geographically located in North America. Some travel can be expected, typically in the United States.

This person will also be responsible for supporting, mentoring and developing local instrument technicians. These technicians will be the primary support persons for each facility.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of process automation experience preferred. Consideration will also be given to current non-degreed Air Products instrument technicians with applicable experience.
- A strong background in control and instrumentation, including valves, transmitters, controllers and PAS is a required. Experience with Siemens PCS7, APACS, and ABB Bailey Controls software/hardware a plus. Proficiency with methods of level, temperature, pressure and flow measurement is required, as well as knowledge relating to industrial processes, and safety instrumented systems.
