PRODUCT/PROJECT ENGINEER

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a PRODUCT/PROJECT ENGINEER at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This is a dual role with global responsibilities for both product development and capital projects execution supporting the Electronics and Performance Materials PST at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. The product development aspect of the position will require the individual to work with the Commercial organization to define the offerings, Utilize Product Based Approach (PBA) methods and stage gates. Develop the understanding and utilization of unit operation approach, define scope and effort requirements, resource plan, schedules, and cost benefit analysis for the product lines definition package. Communicate and store documentation in Global Engineering tools. Manage product execution of approved First Time Engineering (FTE) efforts of new/Product retrievable(s). Verify that the unit operations can be configured with other products with adherence to definition package requirements. Participate as a member of the bid teams which enables the configuration of the product line approach with retrievable engineering. Produce monthly cost and status reports to management for development activities.
Project Engineer responsibilities will include overall cost, schedule, and plant performance for the assigned project(s). The typical scope includes bid support, engineering, design, equipment procurement, construction procurement, construction management, plant commissioning, start-up, and environmental permitting.

• Experience with Apollo Root Cause failure analysis methods a plus.

Qualifications:
• BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
• Experience in some or all of the following areas is highly preferred -- Product Engineering, Project Engineering, Electronics.
