NORTH AMERICAN ELECTRONICS FIELD PROJECT ENGINEERS

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking experienced Project Engineers in Tempe, AZ and Austin, TX.

This Project Engineering position is a broad based role with many technical and non-technical interfaces, where the engineer is tasked with executing projects for Air Products’ customers. These positions will be based in Tempe, AZ & Austin, TX and will require periodic travel to customer sites. There will be additional travel to other regional locations for training during the first year. Primary responsibility is to provide technical support and assistance to the North American Electronics Sales Team. This role will include working directly with internal and external customers.

Product lines supported include:

• UHP Electronic Equipment Systems
• Tonnage Gas installations
• Liquid Bulk installation
• Electronic Specialty Materials

Project scope includes proposal development, engineering, design, equipment procurement, construction management, commissioning and start-up, etc.

Key responsibilities include:

• Project Safety - Participate in Air Products’ Basic Safety Program to drive safety performance to zero incidents
• Design and manage new customer installations or modifications to existing systems from the proposal phase through implementation.
• Provide engineering support to Air Products’ customers, sales personnel, and the Customer Engineering Maintenance organization.
• Prepare scope of work documents detailing system design criteria and customer versus Air Products installation roles and responsibilities.
• Generate installation cost estimates, overall project schedules, bills of materials, and detailed equipment layout, foundation, and flow schematic drawings.
• Prepare construction packages containing system details and drawings, budgetary information, safety checklists, and other installation requirements.
• Complete project closeout activities, including actual vs. budget cost justification and drawing as-builts.
• Follow all internal work processes for safety, engineering standards, project management, and operations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BS in Engineering
• 5+ years Project Engineering Experience
• Strong Computer Skills – Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Smart Sketch, Ultra Flow, Outlook, etc
• Demonstrated Project management skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Self directed, self motivated, able to work independently without daily face to face interaction with direct manager
• Travel to customer sites in the Western US and Allentown, PA corporate office may be required
• Ability to analyze issues and exercise sound judgment in the coordination of project activities
