Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a SENIOR PRINCIPAL RESEARCH SCIENTIST at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
DESCRIPTION:
The Electronics Technology organization within Air Products is seeking a Senior Research Technologist to support thin film precursor research and development at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown PA. The position includes screening chemicals by one or more vapor deposition techniques, development of structure-property relationships, feasibility and product demonstration, and commercialization support. Products may be developed for the microelectronics, solar, and/or display industry. The candidate will work with Air Products technologists and commercial managers to develop solutions matching customer targets. The position involves interfacing with Air Products customers, such as equipment and device manufacturers, to demonstrate performance. The position may involve identification of new product development opportunities based on customer feedback and industry roadmap information.
REQUIREMENTS:
-PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics
-Knowledge or experience in the fields of Microelectronics, Display or Photovoltaics
-Working knowledge of thin film deposition, related processing equipment, and thin film characterization is required as this position will require hands on process development.
-Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills are required
-Demonstrate skills in relationship building and collaboration
-Experience in patent writing and/or intellectual property strategy would be a benefit.
