Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Purpose:
To design, build, test and deploy reporting and analytical solutions and systems in support of Air Products global business operations and planning processes.
Nature and Scope:
The Business Intelligence team delivers value to the organization by providing timely and accurate reporting and analytical applications and systems for the enterprise. Individual assignments will vary from small tasks such as creating reports or ETL scripts to participating in team projects such as creating new cubes or analytical data marts and their supporting data structures. Areas of development will include SAP Business Warehouse (Modeling, Administration, BEx), SAP Data Services (Data Integrator, Data Quality), ABAP, SAP Business Objects (Web Intelligence, Dashboards, Crystal reports), and MS SQL Server. As part of a global Business Intelligence solutions team, the BI Specialist will report to the BI Solutions Manager. The Specialist will follow standard Air Products practices and processes, will be expected to contribute effectively to the team environment, and will carry out assigned tasks on time and to the required quality.
Accountabilities:
1. Design, code, test, and document new or modified BI systems, applications, reports and programs using SAP Business Objects and BW
2. Develop ETL processes and programs to support new BI solutions using SAP Data Services, BW, and UC4
3. Develop semantic layer, universes and Information spaces in SAP Business Objects
4. Develop test cases and plans, and assists with testing of new solutions
5. Transition completed solutions to BI Support team providing all necessary documentation and knowledge transfer
6. Work closely with business subject matter experts to understand issues and enhancement requests related to BI solutions
7. Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions
8. Coordinate and prioritize individual tasks and requests to ensure timely delivery
9. Follow prescribed development life cycle and meet all quality standards
10. Function as a technical expert for escalation from BI support team as needed
11. Support the continuous improvement of BI/BW processes and procedures
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree in Information Technology field, related technical discipline preferred.
2. 2-5 years experience working in Business Intelligence field with SAP BW
3. 1-3 years experience working with SAP Data Services (Data Integrator)
4. Knowledge in fundamental concepts and practices of Business Intelligence, OLAP, data warehouse design, including multidimensional and relational reporting and analysis
5. ABAP experience in BW a plus
6. Hands-on experience with SAP Business Objects Enterprise (Web Intelligence, Dashboards)
7. Knowledge of SAP/ERP ECC 6.0 functional areas FI,MM,PP,SD a plus
8. Knowledge of MS SQL Server, MSAS, SSIS a plus
9. Demonstrated track record of successful task and/or project delivery
10. Good analytical, conceptual, and problem solving skills
11. Strong oral and written communications skills
12. Experience working in a multicultural, team-oriented, globally collaborative environment
