Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner/Coordinator for its Geismar, LA site.
The basic function of this role is to minimize total cost by maximizing work force capabilities through prioritizing, planning and scoping of maintenance work orders. The Maintenance Planner/Coordinator will co-lead backlog review and prioritization activities along with designated area maintenance supervisor. The planner/coordinator will scope work orders to estimate cost, labor, materials, equipment and special tool requirements to complete the job in a safe and cost-effective manner.
This will include but not be limited to:
* Coordinate the review of work backlog with production and maintenance personnel to insure that all work is appropriately prioritized, planned, scheduled and executed. * Work closely with maintenance supervisors and central scheduler to level work force requirements across the Baton Rouge region. * Provide detailed job plans as required on general maintenance activities. * Provide planning support during turnarounds. * Create and receive requisitions for parts and external maintenance services as required. * Support the preparation of bid documents as necessary. * Participate in all general maintenance leadership activities including 24 hour on-call support on a rotating basis.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma with preferred relative technical school or college degree. Relative experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal education. - Three (3) plus years experience in the petrochemical & manufacturing industry. Prior planning & estimating experience is a plus. - Self-starter with a solid work history and excellent references along with the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
Skills: 1) Strong organizational & people skills. 2) Strong computer & problem solving skills. 3) Strong oral & written communication skills. 4) General knowledge of maintenance work processes. 5) Have a passion for driving excellence. 6) Familiar with chemical and petro Chemical equipment & Specifications. 7) General knowledge of maintenance planning tools. 8) Knowledge of maintenance software- SAP a plus. 9) Ability to multi task, self motivated & willing to travel on occasion.
