Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician for its Carlsbad, CA facility.
The technician supports analyses of chemical samples for ultra-trace impurities. These analyses are used to support product manufacturing, certificate of analysis generation, product development, and research projects. The technician prepares and cleans sample vessels, performs routine sample preparation and operates some laboratory equipment. Routine calibration tasks are performed. Typically works with existing procedures and instructions.
The position has primarily an internal role in the Quality Assurance department.
Supports the timely and accurate generation of analytical results by the QA department.
May interface with operators and engineers in the Chemical Manufacturing and Engineering departments
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Cleans and prepares sample vessels and general laboratory reagents
2. Prepares samples for analysis in a clean room setting
3. May operate laboratory equipment under the supervision of staff chemists.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- College degree preferable
- Some college chemistry acceptable
- Some experience in Quality assurance testing and sample preparation desirable
- Clean room environment experience a plus
