Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a MACHINERY ENGINEER at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
This position will be responsible for providing machinery support for operating plants in the US Northeast region. The position is based in Allentown, PA.
Core Responsibilities:
• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance support and optimizations of rotating machinery primarily in the US Northeast region. The machinery includes centrifugal, reciprocating and screw compressors, steam turbines, expanders, blowers, gearboxes, cooling towers, fin-fans and all types of pumps including cryogenic pumps.
• Initiate and implement reliability and/or efficiency improvement initiatives and best practices on operating machinery.
• Provide installation and commission support for new large machinery [Compressors, turbines, etc. ]
• Provide technical support and supervision in the overhaul of large rotating machinery [ mainly compressors, blowers, turbines ].
• Provide machinery training to operation and maintenance personnel.
• Provide technical support in re-rate of existing machinery for plant optimization initiatives.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in rotating equipment machinery design, application, engineering and maintenance preferred.
• Familiar with machinery vibration diagnostics skills and machinery troubleshooting skills.
• Well versed with root cause analysis techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions required.
• Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
• Approximately 25% travel is required.
