Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an experienced Global Startup Megasys Technician.

No relocation is associated with this position, but the employee may live anywhere in the continental U.S.

Employee should expect to travel 75 to 90% of the time. Locations and individual project duration will vary by specific project loading and will be worldwide.

The following description lists responsibilities and skills required for an individual to join as a team member of the Global Start-up Team for construction project support and start-up of chemical and specialty gas equipment worldwide.

This position reports to the Global Start-up Megasys Manager.

General Duties: Ensure that the start-up activity remains on schedule, generating reports, and directly participating in all gas delivery system facilitization and start-ups. The technician will be required to conform to all Customer and APCI safety standards and practices, and properly document and report all safety incidents relating to the start-up activity.

Detailed Duties may include but are not limited: Gas Delivery system facilitization, gas to DVB/VMB start-up, coordination of safety level sign-offs (ORI Process), software tool installation, configuration and testing with vendors, providing quality control for system installations, coordination of construction activities supporting equipment start-up.

Qualifications:
- Associates degree or other formal training in electronics chemical and/or gas equipment start-up
- Minimum 2-3 years experience with gas and/or chemical systems in an ultra high purity operation is also required.
- Minimum of Level 2 training in Gas Systems
- Prior project start-up, equipment testing, decontamination, and decommission experience preferred
- Be a self-starter with self-motivated attributes and adept at problem solving
- Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a professional image are mandatory to succeed in this high profile position, servicing both internal and external customers

Project support may also include operations support at local Megasys site. Due to high level of training and project commitments of global startup team, minimum commitment of 2 years is expected.
