Potential for position to be located in Cleveland, OH as well.
The Project Engineer in this position should be able to complete a standard liquid bulk installation (LOX/LIN/LAR) from the initial proposal stage until the system is installed, completed and put on line. This includes providing support to both the end use customer as well as the various sales organizations including GI/Metals, EPI, Government Sales and CAM. Project budgets and scope of work documents must be generated along with any layout drawings, flow diagrams or any nonstandard cost items for the proposal. During the project stage a complete construction package and electronic database must be generated and maintained. This includes cost estimate generation, tank and equipment sizing, bill of material preparation, foundation design, and other necessary documentation. A strong technical understanding of the system installation and operation is important. The project engineer will be able handle the following installations; oxygen, nitrogen, argon, medical systems, liquid/bulk hydrogen, and bulk helium.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the closeout of the project, which shall include completing any as-built drawings, actual budget justification, schedule and technical performance of the installation. He/She will be responsible for explaining and justifying project overruns, schedule delays and the design parameters for the equipment selection and sizing.
Additional responsibilities include upgrades/modifications to existing standard installations. The Project Engineer should be able to estimate and generate a construction package to perform the work on the installation, as well as provide ongoing support to the National Maintenance Organization.
The Project Engineer will also be able to support nonstandard atmospheric installations which may include turnkey installations involving site work and permits, high volume - multiple tank installations, auxiliary equipment such as pressure build vaporizers, vaporizer switching, etc.
This position primarily supports the United States. Limited travel will be required.
Job Responsibilities/Key Interfaces:
* Manage standard customer station installations or modifications to existing systems from the proposal phase through implementation. * Provide engineering support to various Air Products sales groups including GI/Metals, EPI, and CAM as well as the National Maintenance Organization. * Prepare scopes of work detailing system design criteria and customer vs. Air Products installation roles and responsibilities. * Conduct site evaluations for LOX, LTX, BHY, and LHY systems to ensure compliance with NFPA criteria. * Generate installation cost estimates, bills of materials, and detailed equipment layout, foundation, and P&ID drawings. * Coordinate project execution activities with the external customer as well as internal organizations including sales, distribution, construction, maintenance, project support, asset management, and global materials management. * Prepare construction packages containing system details and drawings, budgetary information, and safety checklists. * Complete project closeout activities, including actual vs. budget cost justification and drawing as-builts.
Qualifications: A BS in Engineering is required, along with 3-6 years of experience.
