Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Operations Technician for its Cincinnati, OH facility.
This position will support our Steam Methane Reformer, Boiler and Air Separation facility located in Cincinnati, OH. The facility produces hydrogen, high pressure steam, oxygen and nitrogen for an on site customer.
Qualified candidates should have the following:
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Valid Ohio High Pressure Boiler operators license.
• Five years of operations experience in the industry is preferred.
• Must be a self starter and willing to work alone.
• Strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Military experience is a plus.
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends and take 24 hour on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Team player that is flexible and has a positive attitude.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in the basic safety process as a key member of the Site Safety committee and sharing responsibility for the site’s overall safety performance.
• Interact with staff personnel to maintain operation of plant; assist in plant equipment mechanical repairs, instrument calibrations and electrical troubleshooting.
• Follow Operating procedures.
• Provide troubleshooting expertise for the production units.
• Support other facilities in the area as required.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Will be exposed to high noise levels.
• Be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.
• Elevated work required.
