Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Lead Vehicle Mechanic at its Glenmont, NY facility.
As a Lead Vehicle Mechanic, the primary responsibilities will be to:
- Lead and drive safety, productivity and cost reduction initiatives
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary on trailers and tractors
- Document/record work performed electronically on the computer
- Perform road repairs when necessary
- Perform cryogenic pump maintenance
- Perform electrical/electronic repairs and installs on tractors and trailers
- Calibrate pump discharge meters
- Load trailers
- Minor welding and fabricating as required
- Install and repair electronic equipment on tractors
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma/equivalent
- 3-5 years strong diesel vehicle repair experience
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong mechanical background, with above average computer experience/skills
- Energetic, highly motivated and well organized; self starter with strong commitment to safety
- Strong team player with ability to work well with fellow mechanics/drivers/operations personnel
- Solid work history
- Ability to drive a tractor
Desired Qualifications:
- Welding knowledge and experience
- Electrical troubleshooting skills on 12 volt DC circuits
- Diesel engine troubleshooting and repair experience
- CDL a plus
