Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has Operation Technician Internships for our Port Arthur, Baytown, and LaPorte facilities for the Spring 2010 semester.
Our Operations Technician Internship are responsible for controlling and monitoring the process to produce hydrogen for our highly automated plants (e.g. steam system, compressors, rotating equipment, and DCS operation), as well as work alongside Maintenance and Instrument/Electrical Technicians to maintain equipment. Additional duties involved include taking field readings and performing equipment inspections.
During your 140 hour assignment, you will be exposed to many operating activities at the plant, including:
Basic Safety Training
Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment
Steam Methane Reforming
Pressure Swing Absorption
Hydrogen Compression
Plant Specific Process Training
Hydrogen Plant Technology Training Program
You will receive guidance from the local Training Coordinator as well as our full time Operations and Maintenance staff. This paid opportunity is to provide the Process Technology Student with an introduction to Industrial Gas Production, improving their future employability after graduation from the program.
Qualifications:
Interested applicants should be currently enrolled in an accredited Process Technology program pursuing an Associates Degree and have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours.
