Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Process Controls System Integrator at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will have a strong hands-on background and a demonstrated ability to provide practical technical leadership for the design and integration of process control (hardware and software) and electrical systems. Strong practical knowledge is required in the following areas: Process Instrumentation and Hardware (transmitters, control valves, RTDs, thermocouples); PLC and HMI (Human Machine Interface) hardware specification, programming and troubleshooting; Electrical design, hardware specification, troubleshooting, and knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NFPA, UL). Strong hands-on background is essential. Must be able to read and interpret Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical power and control schematics with minimal guidance (CAD skills preferred). Must have the ability to design and troubleshoot custom instrument/PLC control solutions with limited information. Strong team and interpersonal skills are essential. Prior process start-up and commissioning experience is extremely desirable. Other desirable skills include: Familiarity with Sequential Function Charts (SFCs) and function block programming. The ability to perform text-based programming (VB/VB.net/Macro Development). The ability to program process control (PID) loops.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Minimum Associates Degree plus 5 years experience.
