Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Global Quality Director for its Tempe, AZ facility.
The DA Nano Global Quality Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving the global enterprise quality systems necessary to establish DA Nano as the customer acknowledged industry-leader in both product quality and customer responsiveness. The incumbent will need to continually assess the needs of our customer base and business, and meet or exceed these needs through the rigorous application of industry standard quality practices as well as innovative internally developed quality management and improvement tools.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Develops and implements the overall quality framework for DA Nano’s global operations and drives alignment and synchronization of the quality framework to customer expectations and DA Nano’s strategic and operating plans.
• Leads the implementation and application of the quality framework and associated systems throughout DA Nano’s customer base and global operations, including third party manufacturing partners. Works closely with the Supply Chain team to drive the application of these systems across the associated supplier bases.
• Develops proactive customer quality engagement processes and provides our customers with a single/primary point of contact for all process integrity and product quality, reliability, and fitness-for-use inquiries.
• Drives the investigation of all customer quality concerns and product performance excursions and assures resolution of issues as well as successful completion of all related corrective and preventative actions.
• Provides critical analysis and forward looking quality metrics to the Executive Management team to drive alignment and decision making across all aspects of the business.
• Recruits, trains, develops, and provides performance guidance and feedback to the global quality team.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• A BS/BA degree in engineering or other technical discipline.
• 15 years experience with a minimum of 6 years progressive experience in quality management.
• Detailed working knowledge of industry quality standards such as ISO 9000, ISO 14001, or QS 9000.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing SQC/SPC programs.
• Strong working knowledge of semiconductor industry standards practices such as change management, cross-site matching, and business continuity planning.
• Experience managing key customer and supplier relationships.
SKILLS:
• Strong leadership, organization and execution skills.
• Ability to define, implement and manage a comprehensive global enterprise quality system across both internal and third party facilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex customer and supplier relationships.
