Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an opening for a Global Operations Site Supervisor at our Corpus Christi, TX facility.
The supervisor will be responsible for a newly constructed Steam Methane Reformer facility that supplies hydrogen to an onsite customer.
The role requires the candidate to gain an understanding of all aspects of the site’s responsibilities (plant operation and maintenance) with a specific focus on leadership skills as a first line supervisor. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for directing all aspects of the day-to-day operation. Safety, plant reliability, productivity improvements, budget management and customer satisfaction are vital areas of the Site Supervisor role.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Demonstrated managerial, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- A track record of success on Safety, Environmental, Quality and Health, Best Safety Practice compliance and process safety management
- Support of all aspects of the day-to-day operation, including troubleshooting plant process problems directly supervising daily plant activities and driving plant projects.
- A demonstrated commitment to asset management programs.
- Working with the operators and support resources to achieve productivity targets in all areas.
- Identifying maintenance concerns, then developing and implementing corrective / preventative measures.
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
- Ability to interface with customer representatives and community leaders.
- Experience in SMR plant operation and maintenance or operations of equivalent complexity.
- Effective communication skills to coach and counsel employees for policy and procedural compliance are essential.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- A demonstrated commitment to EH&S
- A self-starter with proven leadership abilities
- Demonstrated managerial leadership potential and proven interpersonal skills
- Experience in process plant operation / maintenance
- Ability to build relationships with multiple support groups
- Strong communication and organization skills.
